Michael "Chase" Gosselin is a director/choreographer based in New York City. Chase was raised in the small town of Newport, Vermont, where he convinced the board of directors at the private school he attended to allow him to create a theatre program. At the time, he was only twelve years old.
In the following years, Chase grew the program from a small after-school club to a full professional theatre company which eventually split from the school to become Act Three Theatricals. Act Three became the premiere theatre company from the Northeast Kingdom, receiving statewide recognition for their quality of production, community outreach, educational performances, and social awareness.
Upon announcing the company's 2012 season, Chase also announced that it would be his final year as the Executive Director, and thus the group's last season. The company's farewell performance was the Vermont Premiere of the groundbreaking new musical, Next to Normal. Chase received a letter from the governor of Vermont, Peter Schumlin, concerning his leaving. "I wish you every success in New York, but I hope you will consider returning to Vermont at some point in the future. Our state will need strong leaders, and I hope you will continue to be involved in Vermont's vibrant arts community."
Today, Chase lives in Manhattan, where he is expanding his career in the commercial theatre. Currently, he is developing a new production of a well known musical with aims at a New York run. More info will be posted when made available. In the meantime, enjoy this website, which provides a glimpse of Chase's work in the theatre.
